The Joint Graduate School (Ph.D. Program) in Science of School Education has been established at Hyogo University of Teacher Education on the basis of the Graduate School of Education (Master's Course) of each of its six constituent universities: Hyogo University of Teacher Education, Joetsu University of Education, Naruto University of Education, the Faculty of Education in Gifu University. the Faculty of Education in Shiga University. and the Faculty of Education in Okayama University. It should be emphasized that the Joint Graduate School is an independent three-year postdoctoral course different from these Graduate Schools of Education.
The Joint Graduate School consists of three fields of research: School Instruction, Instructional Development in Forefront Issues and Content Area Instruction, which are further divided into eight departments as shown below.
